Wayne, Marlene and "The Boys of Generation Gap"

The name "Generation Gap" came about logically due to the differences
in age of our members. This difference however has never seemed to exist
in the real sense of the meaning. To put it simply we are one big family who
love to share our musical talents, respect each other's ideas and input,
and really enjoy what we do. Our ages have never played any part other than
an easy choice for a name.

Wayne and Marlene have known each other for many years and sang together on
many occasions such as benefit concerts, fund raisers, music festivals and
eventually sang professionally together. Throughout the years they spoke
often of doing a recording and in 2004 they decided to sit down seriously
and write. They began writing and co-writing, and this past summer released
the CD called "We're From the Rock" consisting of eight original songs and six most
often requested songs that they performed together.

We are blessed with top notch and very talented musicians, who can pick up or switch
to any instrument or style of music as though they had performed it for years, they are
Awesome with a capital A.

Claude Button, his brother Jason and cousin Perry Short grew up in Caplin Cove -
Hant's Harbour, Newfoundland which inspired the cover. Michael Green the young man
on the cover is Claude and Jason's nephew.

About the Cover

We wanted our cover to visually explain the meaning behind the songs. The now
useless boat, represents: "A Lost Way of Life". The rock Michael is standing on
represents: "We're From the Rock". The Hibernia platform shows that there is still hope
for the future, our resources and part of why we wrote "Newfoundlanders By Choice".
The Sea represents: "Oh Big Sea" and The Eagle in flight like our children leaving the nest: "Leaving".
