Dedicated to Tolson Meadus
CHORUS
Exploits River man did
the best that you can
We’ll always remember you
When the salmon ran through we always knew
On the river we’d be sure to find you
Each year in July to the river he’d go
Out on the highway with trailer in tow
When he reached the river he’d only one care
He hoped that the salmon would soon be out there
As he cast his line on the edge of a pool
The salmon was no match for him
With such great skill in using the fly
He’d have one on in the blink of an eye
CHORUS
Funny stories
we’d share with his friends by the fire
Too many to mention in song
But I’ll tell you one story and this is no lie
He hooked a Honda Civic with his fly
A fight with the salmon he nearly always won
An inspiration to his friends
But inspite of great courage and many prayers
There was one fight that he could not win
CHORUS
Now listen all
fishers of the River Exploits
Always make way for my friend
He’s there in spirit and if you hear a splash
It might be Tolson reeling one in
CHORUS
Exploits River man loved
life and your land
We’ll always remember you
You made us all laugh you made us all cry
Now you’re gone to your home in the sky

Wayne caught his first salmon during the Summer
of 2006
in the Exploit River!
Tolson...This one is for you!!
